What is the price of a phonecall?

Mobile network rate when calling from a mobile phone, and local network rate when calling from a landline. The price of the call is determined by the caller’s subscription.

 

Where are the test results sent?

You will receive an e-mail notification when the results are available in the online services. If you have not added an e-mail address to your information, you must personally check when the results are ready. The completed results can be viewed online and in MyKanta. 

 

Are the results sent to MyKanta?
On 21 August 2023, SYNLAB initiated Kanta archiving, and the results will also be available in MyKanta in the future.


Can I use the services on behalf of someone else?
A legally competent adult with sufficient understanding can authorise another adult to use the services on their behalf. The authorisation is given with a power of attorney. The power of attorney must state precisely which tasks the patient has consented to hand over to the authorised individual.

 

Where can I see my child’s results?

When using the services on behalf of a minor, the child’s tests results are sent to the home address confirmed in connection with the appointment or to another healthcare provider.  The parent can also see the results in MyKanta if the minor has given their consent. 

 

Who forwards the statement to the treatment provider?
The customer should deliver the test statement to the treatment provider. The statement is also available in MyKanta. SYNLAB forwards the statement to the contract partners’ system in accordance with the agreement.


What should I do after the examination or test?
After the examination or test, you will receive a statement on the results. If you need help with further treatment, please contact your doctor.


If the statement or results are abnormal, what should I do?
In the event of abnormal results, we recommend contacting a doctor who will help interpret the results and determine the need for treatment and further examinations. 


What kind of a referral do I need for Kela compensation?
Kela compensation is only available for examinations and tests that require a referral, are related to mental health and oral care and have been issued by a psychiatrist, oral and maxillofacial surgeon or dentist. For these examinations and tests, the customer can apply for compensation directly from Kela.


Can I have an examination or a test without an appointment?
Examinations and tests require an appointment. However, there are plenty of appointments available, often even for the same day.


Where can I find the price lists for examinations and tests?
The current prices can be found on our website under the Price lists tab.


Is a driver’s licence sufficient as a photo ID?
Yes, it is.


When must I cancel my appointment at the latest to avoid paying a fee?
Booked appointments must be cancelled no later than 24 hours before the appointment. We have to charge a fee for uncancelled appointments.


Can I pay with Epassi or Smartum?
Yes, Epassi and Smartum are included in our payment options.
