Inflammatory bowel diseases
A calprotectin stool test (F-Calpro) is used to diagnose inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Elevated levels of calprotectin distinguish inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) from functional symptoms. It can also be used to monitor the activity of inflammatory bowel diseases and assess the efficacy of medication. You can buy it as a separate laboratory test.
