Mammograms are X-ray images of the breast, and mammography is the most effective tool used to find breast cancer at an early stage. In addition to traditional mammography, we offer 3D mammography.
Traditional and 3D mammography
In mammography, both breasts are scanned alternately from two different directions. The bare breasts are squeezed against the imaging plate, one at a time. The compression may feel uncomfortable or painful, but it only takes a few seconds at a time. If the breasts are not sufficiently compressed, the image will not be diagnostically accurate and the radiation dose will increase.
