How to prepare for a mammography

Mammography involves the use of X-ray radiation, which is why a doctor’s referral, or a screening invitation is required for the examination.

Preparing for the examination

• The examination does not require any special preparations.
• Please bring a photo ID with you to the appointment.
• Arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled time.
• Avoid using strong fragrances when visiting our clinic.

Mammography at SYNLAB

• During the examination, the breast being examined is briefly compressed between two plates.
• The examination takes approximately 15 minutes.

Cancelling an appointment

If you are unable to attend, you can cancel your appointment through the online service or by calling the booking service. Appointments cannot be cancelled via email.

We charge 150 € for missed mammography appointments or appointments cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time.
